Introduction

Good morrow readers! Today’s missive bring ill tidings… Something has begun beneath the defiled chapel. A ritual is taking place. The insidious Vorlokus is planning to sacrifice one last innocent life when the celestial bodies converge and amplify the ley line magics running deep beneath this place. I have great faith that some adventurers will sally forth unto the breach and stop this calamity from occurring…but will it be in time?

Some readers will recognize the Vorlokus as one of the monsters from our independent publishing house’s previously printed Almanac of Abomination zine for 5e and System neutral. The Vorlokus has been separated out and given a full mini-adventure treatment, complete with updated stat blocks designed specifically for Shadowdark and 100% human created visual art and text.

The chapel is at location 1 and the rest of the map is underground below it. The Vorlokus has been capturing live creatures and putting them in cages and filling out a collection of recently deceased corpses to fuel its experiments. The heroes must figure out what is going on and stop the ritual!

This site is designed as a level 3 mini-adventure likely to take take 1-3 sessions of play. Everything needed to place this adventure in your game world is included in the 15 page PDF - adventure hooks, random encounter table, area treasure table, fleshed out room key, stat blocks, and two spells .
