I like the hook on this post. I'm hoping to run some successful one shots in the future. I have many players in my world, and the majority of them are playing solo in instead of in a group (beauty of PBP style DMing).

I am running my first one shot (of a sort) tomorrow. It is the TLI (Transdimensional Literary Invitational)... aka a PVP battle with literary characters.

Thanks! I'm feeling good about it.

I'm very curious about the many players in your world and play by post with solo, are the solo games linked to a singular world you are coordinating?

I've run many one-shots, they can be really alot of fun if your players can throw themselves into a game where the characters aren't going to be growing long term.

I also like your TLI pvp idea, all classic authors? What game system are you using for the PVP bouting? is it he same as your PBP/solo game? What are the systems if you use different ones?

Yes, the world contains the campaign. I have a CO DM and they are actually running their own arc a bit lower on the map. Mine is primarily in the High Forest and up to the Silver Marches.

The campaign focuses on solo characters more than parties. Though, characters are welcome to join up on in parties for quests if their playing time lines up, and they have the desire to do so.

My solo stories for Nimly, Valeria and Yavie will come together for a party.

I use Discord to run the solo chat, and those chats go into a new channel when they become a party, and back to their solo channels whenever they go back to solo play.

We have, Kagemsha, Jarlaxale of house Baenre, Puss n Flute (play on puss in boots), and Jack the Ripper (from Records of Ragnarok). I gave free reign for media and literature.

I am using Quest Portal and Discord to run the event.

Same style and the solo PBP games, but with a few differences to help with the back and forth of moves that need to be kept secret from the other player.

I love the ideas you have at work here. During covid I tried running a world share with 3 DMs abd 3 groups but 5E just didn't work for it.

I have aspirations of making a setting and world and filling it out through play kindof like what you're talking about. Do you have a Substack reporting out anything from your game? If not you should! I'd be interested.

This is what we have published currently. We have a lot of content to write and post. There is about 1.5 months more of content (and from other various players, not just the three listed so far).
